Collie mix Lucky travelled to the UK as a pup in March 2022. Having been born in the shelter, he was used to the company of other dogs, but he had not met many people.
Lucky is great with other dogs; however, he was nervous around men, and his owners decided it would be best for Lucky to have a home with a female owner.
Later that year Lucky found his current owner, he has built relationships with men but he is still nervous of men he does not know. On walks, Lucky’s current owner will stop and get his attention with a treat when a man is walking by, however, if a man comes out of nowhere he will get startled.
Lucky has good relationships with the men in his family, if he is given the time and space he needs he can do this at his own pace.
Lucky gets on well with cats, not so much with squirrels!
As a collie mix he is a high-energy dog who would benefit from both physical exercise and mental enrichment, we are looking for a patient and active home for Lucky.
Due to a change of circumstances, Lucky’s current owner is unable to keep him. He is currently living with a family member in Hertfordshire however this situation is temporary as Lucky is not getting walked due to family commitments.
We ask that residential children are aged 10+ for all our adult dogs, this is because younger children can sometimes be unintentionally high-energy, which might overwhelm a rescue dog who's adjusting to a new life.
For this reason, we ask that resident children be of a certain age. We understand that all children are different, so please contact us to discuss if you are looking to adopt.
