Hally is a mixed-breed girl, just under 20kg. She has the looks and characteristics of a Galician Shepherd, a herding breed.
Hally was adopted at 5 months and surrendered at age 13 months due to being destructive when left alone, her foster home has not found that to be an issue.
Hally has been building up her confidence since she arrived. She is a very people-orientated affectionate dog, who loves toys and chew. Hally is very clever, very playful with dogs she knows, super speedy and loves being chased by her friends for play.
Hally was very likely not exercised enough or socialised (with places and other dogs) during her first year, she can react to other dogs she doesn’t know when out for a walk. It has become clear in recent months that Hally’s high prey drive may be a contributing factor to her reactivity. Hally finds it much easier to walk past a stationary dog than one that is moving.
When out for walks on a lead, Hally will choose to distance herself from dogs by moving away from them or increasing her speed when passing by. If the other dog is too close, Hally will lunge and bark.
Hally attends the amazing Red Collar Retreat daycare once a week for socialisation. She started off being a million miles from dogs but now she knows them all she is in amongst them and doing well, after over a year of attending weekly she will now play a little.
Hally has started flyball training and is doing really well, she also does some agility during her weekly training classes.
Hally would do well in an active home, ideally, someone experienced with working type breeds.
